About Stromlo Forest Park
Access
For the purposes of management and control, Stromlo Forest Park is be divided into two areas:
Area 1
Includes the main entrance gate, located off Uriarra Road (near the intersection of Coppins Crossing and Uriarra Rd), Deek’s Road, the event pavilion and the car park areas to the rear of the event pavilion.
Area 2
Includes all other surrounding areas including MTB trails, equestrian links, walking tracks, the Criterium Circuit and the Cross Country Circuit (when it officially opens).
Area 1 opening hours are as follows:
- During daylight savings (extended hours will apply): 0600 – 2100
- During non daylight savings: 0600 – 1800
The intent is to control vehicle access into Stromlo Forest Park, restricting vehicle access into Area 1 during the highest risk time period.
Any vehicles left in Area 1 will be locked inside Stromlo Forest Park unit it is opened the following morning.
Area 2 will be open to the public; however, members of the public may only access these areas using only the available entrances (pedestrian access, cycling and equestrian access points).
A contracted security company will be opening and closing the facility. It is the responsibility of users to Stromlo Forest Park that they remove their vehicles from Area 1 before the closing time. Any vehicles left inside Area 1 will be locked inside Stromlo Forest Park until 6:00am when it is opened again.
